Momo González and Javi Garrido are in the quarterfinals after overcoming a tied match against Pincho Fernández and Pablo Cardona

Momo González and Javi Garrido had to suffer and turn the match around to win their round of 16 duel in Sardinia 4-6/7-6/6-4. The couple faced Pincho Fernández and Pablo Cardona, who won the first set, making things difficult in a very close match between González and Garrido. Finally, Momo González and Javi Garrido took the victory in the third set, after breaking their rivals’ serve. Xisco Gil and Ramiro Moyano won the Spanish-Argentine couples’ duel in the round of 16 by 6-2/7-5 against Álvaro Meléndez and Cristian Gutiérrez. Gil and Moyano once again demonstrated their high level in the round of 16 and meet Momo González and Javi Garrido in the quarterfinals.
Coki Nieto and Javi Rico beat Nico Suescun and Facu Domínguez 7-6/6-2. The first set was more even, but in the second the Spanish couple imposed their superiority on the court and closed the match with determination. Their rivals in the quarterfinals will be Juanlu Esbri and Lucas Campagnolo who achieved victory in the round of 16, with the same score as their next rivals, against the Argentine duo of Libaak and Augsburger by 7-6/6-2. Both couples were very even in the first set, with two service breaks for each couple, the first set had to be decided in the tiebreak, in which Campagnolo and Esbri were superior and scored the first set. In the second they left their rivals no choice and settled the game.
On the other side of the draw, the number one heads, Fede Chingotto and Miguel Yanguas, defeated Javi Barahona and Javi García 6-2/6-4 in just over an hour. The Spanish-Argentine couple played at a high level throughout the match, they were very successful in serving and knew how to defend their rivals’ two break points and finished the match without having lost serve. In the quarterfinals Chingotto and Yanguas will face Iván Ramírez and Pablo García Redondo who won their match against Álex Arroyo and Gonzalo Rubio 6-2/7-6, a match that went to the side of Iván Ramírez and Pablo García Redondo thanks to his good defense.
Mario del Castillo and Nacho Sager achieved victory in the round of 16 of the FIP Platinum in Sardinia by fast track, defeating Mario Huete and Denis Perino in two sets 6-2/6-1 in 44 minutes. The Spanish couple advances to the quarterfinals where their rivals will be Maxi Sánchez and Lucho Capra, who qualified for the penultimate round of the tournament after defeating the Spanish team 6-4/3-6/6-3 in three sets. Spanish-Chilean couple formed by Joseda Sánchez and Javier Valdés.
This Friday the four quarterfinal matches will be played, which will decide which four couples advance to the semifinals of the tournament. These are the matchups of the penultimate round of the tournament: Nieto-Rico vs Campagnolo-Esbri / Gil-Moyano vs Gonzalez-Garrido / Del Castillo-Sager vs Sánchez-Capra / Chingotto-Yanguas vs Ramírez-García Rodrigo.
