Gonzalo Rubio and Álex Arroyo surprise and beat Tapia and Coello

The round of 32 of the Amsterdam Open concluded with its second day with a similar tone to the first, a lot of equality between the couples and closely contested matches. The Spanish pair formed by Edu Alonso and Miguel Benítez won their match quickly 6-0/6-1 against the local guest pair of Bram Meijer and Sten Ritchers. In the round of 16 they will face each other with Paquito Navarro and Fede Chingotto who made it to the next round after Maxi Sánchez’s injury. Ale Galán and Juan Lebron managed to win their round of 32 match against Cristóbal García and Mario del Castillo, in two sets 6-2/6-3. Lebron and Galán started strongly after breaking their rivals’ serve at the first opportunity. They seemed very comfortable on the court and were able to close the first set quickly. History repeated itself in the second and they got their ticket to the round of 16 in the second set. In the next round they will face the French lay couple formed by Clément Geens and Benjamin Tison who took their first round duel against Uriel Maarsen and Bart Van Opstal by a double 6-2.

Franco Stupaczuk and Martín Di Nenno sealed their place in the round of 16 with a great victory against Javi Leal and José Antonio García Diestro by 6-3/7-5. In both sets Di Nenno and Stupaczuk started behind on the scoreboard after a great start, in both sets of their rivals, and little by little they closed the gap until they took both sets and a pass to the next round. The Argentine couple will meet in the round of 16 with their compatriots Tino Libaak and Leo Augsburger for a place in the quarterfinals.
