The Spanish-Argentine couple has won in the final of the Barcelona masters tournament and become the last champions of the season. Navarro and Chingotto beat Ale Galán and Juan Lebron in the final by 6-1/6-4. Paquito and Fede, who went from less to more, controlled the pace of the game and were superior to Galán and Lebron. After a tournament in which they defeated Alex Ruiz and Juan Tello, and the world number ones Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello in the semifinals, in the final they faced one of the best couples of the moment. In this way they put the finishing touch to the season and as a couple.

The final began with a break in favor of Ale Galán and Juan Lebron. The Spanish duo managed to take the lead after a great point from the four players, which gave the initial advantage to Galán and Lebron. However, this would be the only game that the number three ranked couple would win throughout the set. From this first game, the Spanish-Argentine duo would turn the score around.

They would respond quickly with another two break, which together with the games on the service of Chingotto and Navarro, the score went from the initial 0-1 to 4-1. With this advantage Navarro and Chingotto began to control the match and feel more comfortable on the court. The last two games of the first set were more closely contested, but Chingotto managed to break his rivals’ serve again on the golden point. With the score at 5-1, Paquito Navarro converted his serve and closed the first with a 6-1 in his favor.

Greater equality in the second set

Juan Lebron and Ale Galán raised the level in the second set in search of forcing the third set. Both couples made their serves count, until Fede Chingotto and Paquito Navarro managed to break the serve of Ale Galán and Juan Lebron. With this break they took the lead in the set and managed to increase their advantage on serve and go 4-2, very close to closing the match.

However, Ale Galán and Juan Lebron were not going to give up so easily. They managed to tie the set after replicating what Chingotto and Paquito Navarro had done in the two previous games. Break and serve to make the score 4-4 and transfer the pressure to their rivals, who were two games away from becoming champions or going to a third set. Despite this pressure, Chingotto and Navarro were not intimidated, they once again got a break after turning the game around. Afterwards, on serve Fede Chingotto managed to seal the title with a good point to which his rivals could not respond and he stayed in the net.

The couple formed by Fede Chingotto and Paquito Navarro are proclaimed champions of the Barcelona masters tournament and close, in the best way, their stage as a couple within the circuit. Fede Chingotto was named the MVP of the final, for his great performance and key hits in decisive moments of the match.
