Double elimination of the seeds in the preview of the Menorca Open

The action on the World Padel Tour has returned, after a week of break after the Amsterdam open, this weekend with the preview of the Menorca Open. A previous phase that has led to the elimination of the two seeded couples from this qualifying phase. Both the duo formed by Enrique Goenaga and Javi Martínez, as well as Joseda Sánchez and Javi Valdés, seeds number one and two respectively, were eliminated in the penultimate round of the qualifying phase.
Goenaga and Martínez began their journey in the previous with a solid victory against Exequiel Mouriño and Sergio Nieto by 6-4/6-3. However, in the next round they fell in three sets against Miguel González and Dani Santiagosa, who took the match 5-7/7-6/6-1. The young Spanish couple also defeated Pepe Aliaga and Adrián Ronco in two sets in the first round of qualifying.
González and Santiagosa will face Pablo Castillo and Cándido Jorge for a spot in the main draw. Castillo and Jorge reach the last match of the qualifying after defeating Marc Sintes and Jaume Oliver in two sets in the first round, and in the second taking a tough match 3-6/7-5/6-3 against David Gala and Mario Huete.
In addition to the elimination of Goenaga and Martínez, Joseda Sánchez and Javi Valdés, who were the second seeds in this previous phase, also fell. The Spanish-Chilean couple suffered in their first qualifying match, however, they managed to advance after winning 7-5/7-6. But in the second, against Alonso Rodríguez and Adrián Marqués, they were clearly defeated 6-2/6-1.
Adrián Marqués and Alonso Rodríguez gave the surprise by defeating Joseda Sánchez and Javi Valdés, and will face Cristóbal García and Enzo Jensen in the last round of the qualifying round. Jensen and García have reached the end of the qualifying round after defeating Eneko Arija and Noé Navarro in the first round, and Álvaro Meléndez and Pol Hernández in the second round.
Another of the matches in the last round of qualifying will pit the pair formed by Luis Hernández and José Jiménez against Martín Sánchez and Borja Yribarren. Both couples managed to take their two qualifying matches quickly, both in two sets, and now they will face each other in the last round of the Menorca Open qualifying.
While the fourth match that will close this last phase of the preview will pit Guille Collado and Martín Ariel against José Solano and Jaime Fermosell. Collado and Ariel have gone from less to more during the previous one, in their first game they beat Romera and Barbosa 6-3/7-6, and the second against Castro and González they solved it quickly 6-3/6- 0. While Solano and Fermosell had to suffer more in their second qualifying match, which they won in three sets 7-6/6-7/6-1 against Miguel Ángel Solbes and Aitor García.
The qualifying phase closes this Monday with four matches, which will decide the last four places in the final draw of the Menorca Open. The eight couples that are in the last round of the qualifying round will seek victory to gain a place among the best.
