Argentina and Brazil, Pan American padel champions

Argentina and Brazil were crowned champions of the Pan American Padel Games, held in Caracas, Venezuela, on October 22.
In the men’s category, Argentina beat Brazil 2-1. Ramiro Moyano and Lucho Capra opened the scoring for Argentina with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over André Freitas and Pedro Toccafondo. Brazil tied Stefano Palma Flores and Joao Pedro Flores, who defeated Miguel Lamperti and Alex Chozas 6-7, 6-2, 7-6. The decisive point was achieved by the Argentine couple Juani De Pascual and Leo Augsburger, who overcame a 4-1 deficit in the third set and won in three tiebreaks (6-7, 7-6, 7-6) against Matheus Simonato and Lucas Cunha.
In the women’s category, Brazil beat Argentina 2-1. Alessandra De Barros and Cristina Cirne Lima opened the scoring for Brazil with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Silvana Campus and Irene Jimenez. Argentina tied with Daiara Valenzuela and Maria Laura Ferreyra, who beat Francielle Gaspar and Julia Cirne Lima 6-2, 6-0. The decisive point was achieved by the Brazilian couple Gabriela Mena Barreto and Fernanda Abarzua, who defeated Alma Cordoba and Paloma Albornoz 6-1, 6-4.
