The round of 16 of the Areco Malmö Padel Open 2023 ended with the qualification for the Quarterfinals of the three best couples in the world, according to the World Padel Tour ranking.

The number one couple, Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galán, beat Miguel Yanguas and Pablo García in three sets after coming back from a set down. With this victory, Lebron and Galán remain undefeated in the tournament and will face the revelation couple of the tournament, Edu Alonso and Alejandro Arroyo, in the Quarterfinals.

The number two couple, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, also won in three sets against Javi Ruiz and Pablo Cardona. Tapia and Coello remain in the fight for number one in the world and will play their quarterfinals against Momo González and Javi Garrido.

Finally, Momo González and Javi Garrido got into the Quarterfinals after beating Javier González Barahona and Javier García Mora in three sets. González and Garrido will seek to repeat their performance from last season, when they were proclaimed champions of the Malmö Open.

The quarterfinals will be played on Friday, November 11.

Another very close match was the one between Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello against Javi Ruiz and Pablo Cardona. The world number ones had to come back from a break down in the second set to win the match.

Finally, Momo González and Javi Garrido qualified for the Quarterfinals after beating Javier González Barahona and Javier García Mora in a closely contested match.
