Noa Cánovas and Jimena Velasco qualify for the quarterfinals in a great game

The match between Martínez/Ruiz and Velasco/Cánovas was a real great game that was decided in the tie break of the third set. The two couples were very evenly matched throughout the match, but finally it was Martínez and Ruiz who managed to come back from 6-1 in the tie break to win.

The match began with a break by Martínez and Ruiz, but Cánovas and Velasco quickly equalized the score. The set remained very close until the tie break, in which the ranking favorites won 6-1.

In the second set, Velasco and Cánovas started strongly and took a 3-0 lead. However, Martínez and Ruiz reacted and managed to even the score at 5-5. The set was decided in the tie break, in which the Italian-Spanish team won 7-6.

The third set was the closest of all. The two couples alternated leading the scoreboard, but finally it was Martínez and Ruiz who managed to take the match 6-1 in the tie break.

• Sainz and Llaguno fall to Caldera and Nogueira
• Salazar and Araújo easily beat Martínez and Pérez
• Icardo and Riera destroy Martínez and Goenaga
• Osoro and Castelló beat Talaván and Rodríguez
• Virseda and Jensen come back against Orsi and Mesa

The Spanish-Portuguese couples of Caldera and Nogueira, and Icardo and Riera, qualified for the quarterfinals with two resounding victories. The favorites by ranking, Salazar and Araújo, also made it to the next round.

Osoro and Castelló and Virseda and Jensen had to come back to win their respective matches. Osoro and Castelló beat Talaván and Rodríguez 6-3 and 6-4, while Virseda and Jensen came back from 6-4 in the first set to beat Orsi and Mesa 6-2 and 6-1.
