Delfi Brea and Bea González were crowned champions on Mexican soil by defeating Tamara Icardo and Virginia Riera 6-4/6-2 in the final. A high-flying duel between the number three couple in the ranking and the number five. This victory represents the fifth title of the season for the Spanish-Argentine couple, who in recent months have proven to be one of the best and safest couples in the women’s team. They have become the couple that has won the most titles in the season, and they become a real threat for 2024.

Neither couple held anything back in the early stages of the match. The four players came out from the first minute to give their all. This translated into maximum equality during the first moments of the match. With the score at 3-3 and after the first six games where the two couples did not give up serve, a succession of breaks began that gave the advantage to Brea and González.

Three breaks were chained together, two of them went to Brea and González, while the other went to Icardo and Riera. The number three couple in the ranking went 5-4 with serve to close the set. Delfi Brea was the one who scored the last point that gave the set in her favor, 6-4, with which they arrived in a good situation for the second set.

The Spanish-Argentine couple sought to seal the final as soon as possible, and went one more gear at the beginning of the second round. Brea and González quickly broke their rivals’ serve and went 2-0 on the scoreboard. Their advantage was greater when they got the second break of the set and made it 4-1.

With the match practically resolved, Riera and Icardo did not give in, they extended the final after taking a game on serve, but Brea and González did not want any surprises, and closed the second set and the final with a 6-2. With this victory, Brea and González add the Mexican title to their record of the season, after those achieved in Valladolid, Conpehagen, Finland and Malmo.
