The number one couple in the world certified their position at the top of the ranking, after winning the Mexico Open. The Spanish-Argentine couple defeated the Argentine duo of Tino Libaak and Leo Augsburger in the final by 6-4/6-2. With this victory at the Olympic Gymnasium Juan de la Barrera Tapia and Coello have certified the number one ranking, regardless of what happens in the Final Master in Barcelona. This is the eleventh title they have won on the circuit this year of the 23 tournaments that have been held this World Padel Tour season, and they mark the good year that the couple has had.
The final started very evenly, equality marked the first stages of the match. Both couples managed to defend their serves. With the score at 2-2, Tapia and Coello forced the golden point, with the possibility of breaking Leo Augsburger’s serve. Agustín Tapia got a great point out of his sleeve to get the break and take the lead on the scoreboard.
They quickly increased the lead in the next game, while Libaak and Augsburger looked to recover the lost serve but, the world number ones remained solid on serve. None of the four gave up their serve in the remainder of the set, and thanks to that break that Tapia and Coello achieved, they took the first set 6-4.

In the second set, the Argentine couple sought to react to this first set and force the third. Libaak and Auhsburger had already had to recover from a set down throughout the tournament, but the numbers one gave the young Argentine couple no chance for surprises. Tapia and Coello broke their rivals’ serve at the start of the set and quickly went up 3-1 on the scoreboard.
Little by little the Spanish-Argentine couple got closer to their eleventh title of the season, both players played a very solid set, practically without cracks, despite the attempts of Libaak and Augsburger to turn the score around. Tapia and Coello once again got a break, which gave them the opportunity to close the match on serve. A good serve from Coello put an end to the match that, as happened in the La Rioja tournament, fell on the side of Coello and Tapía.
In this way, the number one in the world won the eleventh title of the season in Mexico, which reflects the great year that the two have had and which has established them as number one. They will close the season at the Barcelo Final Master
